United Nations Development Programme

About the Committee

Agenda Statement : Advancing the 2030 Agenda for a Resilient and Inclusive Global Future
As the world bustles towards development, we as a society often forget to really look around and observe because every action has a consequence and unfortunately in this process of development we have started destroying our society, our mother earth and humanity as a whole. The United Nations Development Programme firmly stands for the motto that development is not a privilege for a few but a right for all, keeping up the core value of leaving no one behind. Our agenda is – “Advancing the 2030 Agenda for a Resilient and Inclusive Global Future”, during our committee sessions, we will be discussing bridging the gap between those who have extra with those who have little to begin with. Delegates are expected to uphold the idea of upliftment, justice, inclusivity, and resilience. The twenty-first century is an age of change. It is up to us, the future leaders of tomorrow, whether the change is for good or bad.

Letter from Chairperson

Dear Delegates,

It is with immense honour and excitement that I welcome you to the United Nations Development Programme at the 10th iteration of the Shishukunj Model United Nations Conference 2025. I am Lakshita Arora, and I will be serving as your chairperson for the UNDP.

Currently studying in class 11th humanities along with legal studies, I aspire to become an IFS officer; one of my inspirations for my dream came because of participating in MUNs.

To know me as a person is to know that I can never limit myself to a few hobbies or interests. I find myself equally drawn to the diplomacy of geopolitics and the reflection of the soul through poetry. MUNs, literature, law, music(even though I can’t sing or play any instrument), history, mythology and so much more —these aren’t just my interests; they’re expressions of the person I am.

My MUN journey began as an anxious delegate unsure of when or whether to raise a placard, but over the years, it has become an inseparable part of who I am. I firmly believe that change begins with informed conversations and that is exactly what I aim to foster in our committee.

The agenda we decided upon is “Advancing the 2030 Agenda for a Resilient and Inclusive Global Future.” As the world deals with crises from climate change and rising inequality, our deliberations will require insightfulness, empathy, and innovation. This is not just about diplomacy; it’s about shaping the world for the better, and a big change like this has to begin from the grassroots-level debates and discussions.

In case of any doubts, feel free to reach out to me at any time for help with the ROP, the agenda, or simply to talk about anything from Marvel’s movies to music by CAS.

Regards,

Lakshita Arora
