The ADAM Council (Apex Directorate for Atomic Militarisation) is the United States’ highest wartime command, established under the direct leadership of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. With the fate of the world in its hands, this elite committee has been given the duty of drafting the final course of the Manhattan Project: a weapon to end empires and reshape history. Delegates are not mere advisors; they are architects of consequence. Entrusted with full access to top-secret sites and scientific data, they must interrogate every ethical, political, and technical angle with unmatched precision. This is not a committee for the faint-hearted; it demands bold strategy, relentless research, and unwavering judgment. Namaste Delegates,
It is with great honour that I, Aryav Shah, the Chairperson of the ADAM Council, welcome you to the 10th iteration of the Shishukunj MUN on the theme “Samprikti: bridges to a better world.” Some of you reading this letter might be nervous, and some might feel confident, in their preparation for this MUN. But no matter the preparation, you always leave an MUN filled with memories and learning experiences. The only thing you have to do is give your best. I know this sounds like a motivational speech, and trust me, when my seniors used to tell me this, I would feel the same.
In my first MUN, I was probably the most silent kid, scared to speak up. But it’s these experiences and a supportive bureau that have taught me the importance of MUNs, how they build your confidence, improve public speaking, connect you to the world, give hands-on experience, and even teach you geopolitics; they push you to live to your potential. It teaches you that no matter the situation, if you’re confident in yourself, in how much research you have, you’ll do great. This is the attitude I want you to enter your committee with.
For the ones who don’t know me, I am an 11th grader studying PCM (and yes, I do enjoy it), trying to balance all aspects of my life, mixed with video games, basketball, gym, and studies. I am a person you can come to discuss about almost anything you want, from guitar to workout techniques, and from physics to video game suggestions.
I might not be certain about my favourite song or video game, but I can certainly say that this committee is going to be full of ups and downs you’re gonna have fun dealing with. At the ADAM Council, we’re going to be dealing with one of the most controversial issues in history: The Manhattan Project. There’s only one thing I’d like to say regarding this committee: “Prometheus stole fire from the gods and gave it to man. For this, he was chained to a rock and tortured for eternity. Make sure you’re not the one making this mistake.”
