United Nations Commission on Security of Women

About the Committee
Agenda Statement : Addressing the Impact of Technological Advancements on Gender Equity and Women’s Rights with special emphasis on AI and Women in STEM
The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) has long championed gender equality but in an age of algorithms and automation, the mission is entering uncharted territory. As technology redefines the world it also reshapes the struggle for gender equity. This session dives into the digital gender divide, women’s representation in STEM, and the rising influence of AI-driven surveillance.
Delegates must bring sharp policy, fresh ideas, and maybe a debugging mindset because if technology is the future, equality must be its default setting. It’s time to ask: is progress really progress if half the world is left behind?
Letter from Chairperson
Future Diplomats, pleasure, to welcome you to the 10th iteration of Shishukunj MUN, 2025. It’s an honour to serve as the Co-Chairpersons of United Nations Commission on the Status (UNCSW), a committee promoting equity and equality in the say of women’s rights while we witness ourselves shaping global standards.
I, Samaira, walked into my first MUN in 2021; petrified, silent, and certain I’d never speak. Plot twist: I ended up falling in love with it. From that nervous newbie to an award-winning delegate and now your Co-Chair, it’s been a wild, wonderful ride filled with learning, unlearning, and way too many late nights drafting resolutions. Dear delegates, trust me, MUNs aren’t just about speeches and awards. They’re about finding your voice, breaking your bubble, and sometimes passionately debating whether Barbie is more feminist than Frida (spoiler: this committee will get spicy).
I,Trisha, go by the lines of Rousseau, “There are always four sides to a story: your side, their side, the truth, and what really happened” for I believe you and I are more than bone, flesh, resource, but story. I’ve participated in almost every co-curricular activity that came my way (you name it), from teaching public speaking, pursuing guitar, art, psychology, hand reading; surviving on a dream accepting indifference apart from mumma ki tapli. Therefore, I foster diversity to direct creative thinking in oneself, hoping from you too. So, sometimes it’s okay to support RCB over CSK, Capybaras over cute Mudeng Hippos, DC over Marvel, The Slytherin house and (can’t believe I’m saying this) even Pineapple on Pizza.
We are always here to guide (even if you’re under confident of your research, hold queries regarding the agenda and RoP or incapable of holding onto the committee) you every step of the way to question ingrained orthodoxies within our own selves too. All the best!!!
(We’re jumping on our feet with every word typed to meet you!)
Warmly
Samaira Singh Bhadoria and Trisha Gajabi, Co-Chairpersons of United Nations Commission on the Status of Women
